Collection: Drayman's Liqueur

Drayman's makes liqueur the way it makes whisky and beer: in small batches at the Silverton distillery in Pretoria, and matured before it is bottled. Our honey liqueur, Honigjäger, blends organically farmed honey from the African honey bee with Drayman's Solera Whisky, then rests in French oak casks for a year.

The story behind Honigjäger

The name comes from an African legend about a hunter who follows the call of the Honey Guide bird to a bees' nest, and leaves some honeycomb for the bird in thanks. The liqueur took two years to develop and was launched at the Clarence Craft Beer Festival in February 2013. Drayman's launched it as South Africa's first cask-matured honey and whisky liqueur. The whisky in the blend is made at our own distillery, so you can also explore our small batch whisky.
